Bristol Feminist Network

BFN (Bristol Feminist Network) is a grass-roots organisation which holds regular discussion meetings, reading groups and campaigns on local feminist issues. They organise the yearly Reclaim the Night marches in Bristol.

Bristol Fawcett Society

This is the Bristol network that is part of the Fawcett society. Fawcett is a national organisation that campaigns for equality between women and men in the UK on pay, pensions, poverty, justice and politics.

Bristol Women’s Voice

BWV is a local network that aims to bring together women to share ideas, exchange experiences, support campaigns and events and celebrate success so that together Bristol can be made a showcase for women’s involvement, empowerment and equality.

OBJECT

OBJECT challenges ‘sex object culture’ – the sexual objectification of women through lads’ mags, lap dancing clubs or sexist advertising. They are involved with political lobbying as well as grass roots campaigning and have made a huge impact including legislation changing. Their vision is of a society free of ‘sex object culture’ and the harmful attitudes that this promotes.

One25

One25 is a Bristol based charity that reaches out to women trapped in street sex work, supporting them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction

Refuge

Refuge are a charity providing services for those in domestic violence situations. They aim to empower women as well as raise awareness that domestic violence will not be tolerated.
